First of all and on a different subject, I am quite impressed by the response to my Roll Call post. You guys did a good job of reaffirming that my random news isn't falling on deaf eyes (ha). Thanks for following orders! I'll take that as another reason to continue babbling, besides that this blog is a last ditch effort at the pregnancy journal I should have been keeping for the last nine months. Now that I know who some of you are, and now that I know you know how to comment, feel free to remind me every now and then that you're out there. Cyberspace can get lonely you know. Now onto the latest and greatest...
Over the weekend we finally finished what I consider "getting ready" for JJ. We had so much still to do and I really don't know how we got it all done, especially since I was on my own for most of the day on Saturday and currently even the simplest task takes me four times as long as usual. But, after a later than planned trip to SuperTarget that evening and the skipping of a prenatal class on Sunday (much to my disappointment), we pulled it off! I organized all of the shower gifts from the weekend before, so the room is as functional as it's going to get for two people that have no idea what they're doing. JJ got so many books and keepsakes that we also bought a small bookcase on which to store it all. Josh was up and at 'em early on Saturday morning, so before his day went awry he was able to put together the stroller/car seat/carrier (aka travel system) so graciously given to us by a bunch of my relatives. He put together the swing, graciously given to us by a bunch of his relatives. The Pack n Play from JJ's Grandparents Malloy has been ready and waiting since we brought it back from Keo. The car seat is snug as a bug in a rug, or rather, in the back seat of the car. The monitor is sitting on my nightstand relaying a whole bunch of silence. The hospital bag is half-packed, minus Josh's contributions and any items I use on a daily basis that will be thrown in at the last minute. Get the picture? Home prep-wise, we're as ready as we're ever going to be. Now can somebody tell me when we're suppoosed to schedule the mental preparedness?

What's the theme of the nursery?
ReplyDeleteThe theme is a blank yellow wall, ha! Yeah we kind of fell off the wagon with that. All that crap is expensive!! There are some sports items here and there...a sports theme is our ultimate goal. We'll see how much of a priority that is after his arrival!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy that silence from the monitor. My monitor must be malfunctioning....there are screams that come out of it?!!?!?
ReplyDeleteThe mental preparedness will come in about 18 years.
