Home away from home

Even though it's old news to us, I thought I'd mention that we have secured daycare for JJ after my leave from work. The search was over fairly quickly which was nice, but it was probably one of the more stressful things I've had to do, not because of the need to find the "perfect" place but because of the cost. We're aware that we live in a fairly affordable daycare area, all things considered, but still, who exactly can comfortably pay what amounts to almost a second mortgage payment each month?? And don't go thinking about a second child anytime soon or you'll be working three jobs just to put food on the table. It's insanity. I wish parents could get paid to stay at home with kids, or that there was some kind of "free grandmas" program out there. If you want to see us once daycare time has arrived, plan to come to our house as we'll no longer be doing anything requiring spending money. And feel free to bring groceries and new clothes for us while you're at it.

  1. Are you going to take him to a center or an inhome?

  2. At the moment it's Education Station but I thought getting a guarantee on it would give us some wiggle room to check at least a few in homes without being in a panic. Just so we've at least weighed some options. :)
