TGIF?

Where has the time gone?? I hopped on here last night and was surprised to discover that I hadn't posted since Monday! Sorry to all 13 of you devoted followers out there...I can't imagine how you've survived without me all this time. I have to guess that my recent sanity change due to my impending due date might have something to do with my disappearance.

A few randoms:
  • I finally finished my business class at the local community college on Wednesday night. Talk about a relief to have the stress of that off of my mind. And to have my Wednesday nights back! I honestly don't know how I got through a class during the third trimester of my first pregnancy, but I did. With a lot of whining to Josh, my mom and a variety of others, of course. However, Josh might prefer to use the word "torture".
  • On Tuesday we had another growth ultrasound and were told that JJ is a giant. Well, not literally of course. His thigh measurement was "off the charts" (and therefore the sonographer kindly informed us that "this baby is tall"), but his belly measurement falls into the 82nd percentile which keeps his overall length "on the charts". Phew. I wasn't sure what I'd do if my first born was headed into the Guiness Book of World Records. She also thought it would be fun for us to play "Guess How Fat Your Baby Is" while covering up her computer screen and making us throw out numbers. "High 7s?" I reluctantly said, knowing full well that wasn't possible considering her need to hide the figure from us. She laughed. "High 8s?" I managed to spit out....hoping...praying..."He's 9, 1!!" she blurted, promptly followed by my response of "WHAT???". Yes ladies and gentlemen, according to the never-guaranteed ultrasound measurements, this boy is puh-lump. Sonographer lady did make a point to let us know that u/s weights can be "give or take a pound or two"...to which Josh responded "So you're saying he could be 10 lbs?". Oy.
  • And lastly, yesterday I had my first ever cervix check to determine if I am dilated at all. I am in fact "a good centimeter", but many a mother knows that 1cm could last a month and still result in the need for an induction. So, as exciting as it is that my body seems to be getting the ball rolling, it's really nothing to bank on. Therefore, we wait.

That's all folks! Until next time. And if next time happens to be after Sunday, Happy Mother's Day!

  1. The sonographer measured Jacob 12 hours before he was born, and guessed 5 lbs., 4 oz (give or take a pound). He came out weighing 5,5. Who knew that measuring a leg bone could be so informative!

  3. You should never use the words cervix and 10 pounds in the same post.
