Our first good deed

Awhile back I posted that we had become full-fledged volunteers for an organization called Ragom. A couple of weeks ago we got our first chance to help out by transporting a dog from Fairfield to our house as we traveled home after the baby showers. Because we'd driven two cars to Keosauqua, Rocky and I didn't get to enjoy the ride with Rufus, but Ragom prefers that you don't bring your resident Goldens along on transports anyway so it worked out. I did get to play with the big guy for a few minutes before the next leg's driver arrived, and even though he'd been great on the car ride with Josh, he was very nervous in our house while trying to figure out the strange environment. Regardless, according to Ragom's website he is doing wonders at his foster parents' home and it sounds like is just a giant sweetheart. We're proud to have had a part in getting him there and hopefully one step closer to a loving forever home.

Josh took pictures that day, but Rufus was pretty antsy and never really stayed put while he was at our house. Here is one that that his foster family posted on Ragom's site. Isn't he cute??
